Close Encounters of the Third 3rd Kind 2 ii Second Two 2nd

Many characters have a role in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, but the main story basically focuses on the Roy Neary character, who is actor Richard Dreyfuss. It would seem Close Encounters 2 would reveal what happened to Roy Neary after the end of the first Close Encounters movie.

We could finally see what the extraterrestrials aliens are really about. However, certain characters won't be seen. For instance, the Claude Lacombe character can't return because actor Francois Truffaut passed away during the early 1980's.

Any sequel to Close Encounters would necessarily need the Roy Neary character because it wouldn't make sense to create a continuation based on some other character or group of characters when Roy Neary appears to be so important to the aliens extraterrestrials.

Steven Spielberg could finally explain why Roy Neary was chosen by the exotic space beings to leave with them in their stunning star ship.

It should be understood that a prequel film could be a possibility, which means Roy Neary would probably not be involved because Roy Neary's first instances of becoming obsessed with the extraterrestrials aliens happens only after having his own unique UFO encounter in the first Close Encounters motion picture.

It's not likely Roy Neary had any alien extraterrestrial interactions prior to the original Close Encounters movie. So in theory, you could have a prequel centered around other characters.

Yet if Close Encounters Two ever happens, Steven Spielberg will likely craft the story around Roy Neary because that's what the fans would want. We need to understand the mysterious link between Roy Neary and the extraterrestrials aliens.
